A family in Kanorero, Kangema, Murang’a County is facing unimaginable loss after a tragic incident on Friday morning, September 19.

A father recounted how his wife allegedly attacked their three children, killing two of them and seriously injuring the youngest.

The father described the horrifying scene to local media. He said his wife woke him abruptly, instructing him to handle the children’s bodies and bury them.

“She was at the door shouting my name, telling me to take the children and bury them,” he said, visibly distressed.

Two of the children, aged seven and four, died instantly from stab wounds, while the youngest, a two-year-old, survived but remains in hospital under critical care.

The father appealed for help from well-wishers to cover medical bills for the surviving child and funeral arrangements for the deceased children.

The man revealed that the attack followed a confrontation over suspicion of infidelity.

He said his wife confronted him earlier in the day about the alleged affair, but the discussion did not escalate into an argument.

“I told her I had no issue if she wanted to leave the marriage and assured her she could always see the children,” he said.

After the attack, the woman reportedly attempted to harm herself but later surrendered at the Kanorero Police Post.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including what prompted the woman’s actions.

This case comes months after a similar tragedy in Kiambu County, where a mother killed her three children before taking her own life.

Such incidents have raised serious concerns about mental health support and the need for early intervention in family conflicts.

The father expressed his grief and confusion, struggling to cope with the loss of his two children.

“I am thankful one child survived, but the pain is unbearable,” he said.

Neighbors and community leaders have condemned the attack and called for public support for the surviving child and the grieving father.

Authorities continue to hold the mother in custody while further investigations proceed.
