Beautiful photos of Jackline have resurfaced on social media as family and friends mourn her tragic fate.
Jackline, 22, disappeared on Sunday, November 16, just after returning home from her studies.
Her family and local community were deeply worried and began searching for her immediately after she was last seen.
Sadly, their hopes were shattered when her body was found on Saturday evening, November 22, in a coffee farm located in Ngiriambu village, Kirinyaga County.
The discovery was made by a farmer who was cutting grass for his cattle.
As he worked, he noticed a foul smell and, upon investigating, found Jackline’s decomposing body.
The shocking news spread quickly through the community, leading many to gather at the scene in disbelief.
Witnesses described the state of Jackline’s body as devastating, with some body parts missing.
"I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw her," said one local resident.
The sight of her body struck fear and sadness into the hearts of those who gathered.
Jackline’s father, Musa Kiura, expressed his deep sorrow and frustration. He had spent days searching for his daughter, only to find out that she had lost her life.
"She came home, and I thought she would be safe. We never expected this to happen," he said, tears in his eyes.
Jackline had visited a local church to pick up house keys after arriving home, but she never returned.
The pain was felt not only by her family but also by the entire community. Jackline’s uncle, Njeru Rwigi, led the family to the discovery site and spoke about the family's heartbreak.
The family traveled from Kamagambo village, a few kilometers away, in hopes of a different outcome.
Local authorities were called to the scene. Njukiini's Member of County Assembly (MCA), Timothy Kariuki, also arrived and condemned the violence that led to Jackline's death.
He urged residents to cooperate with the police as they investigate this tragic case.
"This is a shocking incident for our community. We must work together to find out who is behind this," he said.
Earlier, her mobile phone had been found by someone, but the circumstances surrounding it remain unclear.
Investigators are looking into this information as they try to piece together what happened to Jackline.
