According to witnesses, the young man was allegedly seen sneaking into the woman’s house late at night.
A curious neighbour noticed him entering the home quietly and quickly alerted other residents.
Within minutes, a group of villagers and elders arrived at the house and reportedly found the man inside.
When confronted, the man confessed that he had been in a romantic relationship with the woman, who is a mother of three.
led the elders to hold a traditional hearing where they ruled that the man should pay KSh 10,000 for violating cultural norms and disrespecting the institution of marriage.
The fine was divided among those involved in the case.
The woman’s husband received KSh 5,000 as compensation, while the remaining KSh 5,000 was shared among 10 village elders who presided over the matter.
However, the case took a surprising turn when the woman denied having an affair. Throughout the meeting, she insisted that nothing inappropriate happened.
According to one elder, she claimed that the man was only passing by the home and had stopped to greet her at the doorstep when the neighbours arrived and assumed the worst.
She said the allegations were based on rumours and not facts.
The incident has attracted attention not only because of the fine but also because of the husband’s past experience.
It was revealed that he had previously divorced his first wife due to another cheating scandal.
This has led some villagers to say the husband might be unlucky in marriage, while others believe he could be too quick to accuse.
