"Be Prepared" Good News For Kenyans As Weatherman Predicts Rainfall in These 35 Counties, Details

The Kenya Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in parts of the country this weekend, while most areas will continue to enjoy dry and sunny conditions.

The five-day weather outlook, covering Friday, February 6, to Tuesday, February 10, shows that showers and thunderstorms are likely in central Kenya, the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the South-Eastern lowlands.

In the Highlands west of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, rain is expected mainly in the afternoons and evenings. Counties likely to be affected include Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot. 

Some areas may also receive light rainfall in the mornings or at night, particularly towards the end of the forecast period.

Central Kenya is expected to have cloudy mornings with sunny intervals later in the day. Showers are possible in the afternoons and at night. Counties under this forecast include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Nairobi.

The South-Eastern lowlands, including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta, will experience sunny mornings with scattered showers in the afternoons and evenings.
