Saboti has predicted that the situation, especially in Nairobi, will badly backfire for Ruto, considering that only one person can be nominated as the party's candidate.
He warns that those who will lose will leave the party for others or run as independent candidates, taking their supporters with them and leaving UDA seriously weakened.
“Take a look at the list below: For example, 112 aspirants for MP in Nairobi County. Let’s break it down; Nairobi has 17 constituencies, therefore each constituency has 7 aspirants on UDA at most," he said on Wednesday.
"After the nomination, only one will carry the UDA flag. Where will the other 6 go? 6 times 17 aspirants will just lose nomination and wait to be appointed in the next government? Appointed where? By whom and why? A big open lie.”
The ODM lawmaker argued that the looming mass exodus from UDA will only worsen things for a party he claims is already seriously unpopular.
“All capital cities in all worlds’ democracies, Nairobi included, are always anti-government. Nairobi is 80 % anti government. They can increase their 20% to 30% if ODM join."
According to Amisi, even those who will secure the UDA ticket won't win in the general election.
