Veteran journalist Linus Kaikai urged President William Ruto to preserve the sanctity of State House as a symbol of national unity rather than a venue for partisan activities.

Kaikai's segment argued that State House the official residence of the Kenyan president should remain a neutral space reserved for state functions, such as hosting foreign dignitaries and representing the nation.

He emphasized that the constitution views the president as a symbol of unity, requiring an environment of political neutrality.

Recent events at State House, including hosting large gatherings of United Democratic Alliance aspirants reportedly around 12,000 individuals ahead of future elections prompted the critique.

Kaikai contrasted this with past administrations, noting that former President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted delegations more sparingly and often in other locations like Sagana.

In comparison, he described President Ruto's approach as more open, extending to parliamentary group meetings and party-related forums.

The journalist questioned whether State House has increasingly become a "party house" instead of fulfilling its intended role.

He acknowledged that calling it "sacred" might be ambitious in Kenya's context but insisted on upholding its name and purpose: State House should be for the state, not partisan politics.
