Silas was allegedly attacked at his family home by his younger brother following a disagreement.
His wife Melvin has now come forward to dispute claims made by his relatives, insisting that the attack was not planned and that she did not seek help from the suspect before the incident.
According to Melvin, the conflict had been building for months after Silas decided to stop sending money to his parents in December 2025.
She explained that her husband wanted to save funds to build a home for his own family, a move that caused tension within the household.
Melvin claimed that Silas's parents were not being truthful and said the family had been in conflict for some time after he stopped supporting them financially.
She explained that Silas wanted to save money to build a house, which caused the disagreement to escalate.
She further stated that after Silas was hit and left on the ground, the suspect threatened to attack her with an axe.
Melvin said she wanted to help her husband but was unable to do so because she is pregnant and needed assistance herself.
She added that the situation quickly turned violent when Silas went to question why his family had turned against her.
Neighbours later rushed the injured footballer to hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Silas's body was transferred to Kakamega Hospital mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to establish the exact cause of death.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who reportedly fled after learning that his brother had died.
Investigators say they are treating the case as a homicide as the football community continues to mourn the loss of the talented defender.
