Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has intensified his political attack on President William Ruto’s administration, accusing the government of fear and resistance in the face of a bold reform agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kalonzo dismissed claims by the government and its supporters that his party lacks a clear policy framework.

“They claim we lack an agenda. The truth? They fear our agenda,” Kalonzo said, asserting that the Wiper party is preparing a transformative blueprint for Kenya’s economic and social revival.

Central to Kalonzo’s proposed reforms is the abolition of the housing levy, a measure he argues has unfairly burdened Kenyan workers.

“We will end the era of overtaxation that has strangled Kenyan workers,” he stated, highlighting the financial pressures faced by ordinary citizens under the current administration.

The opposition leader also promised to restore dignity to the Kenyan payslip, vowing that employees’ hard work should directly contribute to building their own futures rather than simply padding government coffers.

This, Kalonzo emphasized, would be part of a broader effort to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in the country’s economic policies.

Speaking with a tone of urgency, Kalonzo framed these initiatives as foundational steps for reclaiming economic justice and preparing Kenya for long-term growth.

He signaled that his party is actively engaging with various sectors, including workers’ groups and diaspora communities, to refine and implement policies that directly address citizens’ grievances.

Observers note that Kalonzo’s remarks are part of a wider strategy to consolidate opposition support ahead of the 2027 elections, positioning the Wiper party as a credible alternative to the ruling administration.

The statement has already sparked reactions across social media and political circles, with critics questioning the feasibility of his promises, while supporters praise the leader for articulating a vision that addresses pressing economic challenges.

As the political temperature rises, Kalonzo’s agenda—focused on tax reform, workers’ rights, and economic empowerment—appears set to dominate debates leading up to the next election cycle, challenging the Ruto government to respond to mounting public expectations.
