A young Kenyan man has sparked laughter and debate online after a video showed him seeking relationship advice from a group of market women about his pregnant wife’s unusual behavior.
In the widely shared clip filmed at a busy Nairobi market, the man approaches several vendors while they go about their day selling vegetables and other produce. Looking both worried and embarrassed, he explains that his wife has started behaving very differently since her pregnancy began.
According to him, the changes became more noticeable once she entered the middle months of pregnancy.
Small things now trigger arguments, he says, and her moods can shift within minutes. One moment she is cheerful, the next she is irritated or quiet.
The husband tells the women he is struggling to understand what is happening at home. “Sometimes she says she’s fine, but later she’s upset with me for something I don’t even know about,” he explains in the clip.
Instead of treating the situation as strange, the market traders quickly burst into laughter, recognizing the situation immediately. Several of them tell the man that what he is experiencing is not unusual for expectant couples.
One trader explains that pregnancy often comes with powerful hormonal changes that affect emotions, appetite, and energy levels. Another woman advises him not to argue when his wife becomes upset, suggesting patience instead.
“Just listen more and talk less,” she tells him, drawing more laughter from the group.
Other women recommend helping more at home, making sure his wife rests well, and paying attention to the foods she craves.
By the time the short conversation ends, the man appears relieved and grateful for the guidance.
