Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has declared that his loyalty to the political ideals of Raila Odinga will not change, even if he is removed from his position as Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement.

Speaking to supporters at a public gathering in Nairobi on Tuesday, Sifuna said his commitment to the party’s founding values and to its supporters remains firm regardless of any internal changes.

Addressing the crowd, the senator stated that titles do not define his dedication to the movement.

He told supporters that even if he were removed from the position, he would still consider himself the Secretary General of the people and a loyal defender of Raila’s political vision.

According to Sifuna, his political work has always been guided by the interests of ordinary citizens rather than by the authority that comes with an official office.

His remarks come at a time when discussions within ODM have intensified ahead of the upcoming National Delegates Convention expected later this month.

Some party members have expressed concern over recent decisions within the leadership structure, raising questions about the direction the party may take as it prepares for the next phase of national politics.

Sifuna has for years been seen as one of the most vocal defenders of Raila Odinga and the party’s agenda.

Throughout his tenure as Secretary General, he has often taken the lead in communicating party positions and responding to criticism from rival political groups.

Observers say his latest statement is likely to strengthen his standing among grassroots supporters who see him as a firm voice for the party’s principles.

Analysts note that influence in politics often extends beyond official titles, especially for leaders who have built strong connections with supporters over time.

As internal debates continue within ODM, Sifuna’s message signals that he intends to remain active in shaping the party’s direction and maintaining the political legacy associated with Raila Odinga.
