According to him, Gachagua should abandon his presidential dream and instead support a candidate chosen by Kenya’s Gen Z generation if he wants to have influence in 2027.
In a statement released by his media office, Ayodele, who leads the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, said President Ruto would stop at nothing to retain power, even if it meant bending the rules.
He noted that only the youth-led movement has the strength to unseat the current administration.
The prophet further advised Gachagua not to waste resources on a personal bid, warning that it would end in disappointment.
“Gachagua should not contest. Let him support the person Gen Zs rally behind if the country is to move forward,” he added.
Ayodele’s comments come shortly after Gachagua announced that he would run for president in the 2027 general elections.
The former deputy president pledged to abolish the housing levy, hand housing projects back to counties, and compensate Kenyans whose contributions had been deducted.
His declaration shook the United Opposition, where political players had been speculating on a possible Kalonzo Musyoka–Fred Matiang’i ticket, with Gachagua playing a kingmaker role.
Primate Ayodele is no stranger to Kenya’s political scene. Before the 2022 elections, he had predicted that William Ruto would win in the first round, a prophecy that sparked heated debate at the time.
He claimed that God had instructed him to make the message public so that Ruto could adjust his strategy, especially in Mount Kenya, and appeal to women and young voters.
