A devastated father from the coastal region has opened up about the painful reality of being abandoned by the very son he sacrificed everything for. 

For years, the elderly man and his wife endured harsh conditions, burning charcoal deep in the forest and secretly brewing chang’aa just to raise school fees. 

Their dream was simple—to see their son succeed and lift the family out of poverty. 

Today, that dream has turned into heartbreak after the young man secured a prestigious job at the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and allegedly cut off all communication.

According to the father, life was never easy. There were days they slept hungry, nights spent hiding from authorities due to their illegal brewing activities, and countless moments of despair. 

Despite the struggles, they never gave up on their son’s education. They sold livestock, borrowed money, and even risked their lives to ensure he stayed in school. 

“We believed he would change our lives,” the father said, his voice trembling with emotion. “We thought one day he would remember where he came from.”
