Natembeya arrived in Bumula accompanied by a section of local leaders and supporters aligned to the Linda Mwananchi brigade, a movement that has lately gained attention for criticizing the Kenya Kwanza administration and calling for stronger representation of ordinary citizens.
His visit attracted huge crowds, with residents turning up to listen to his message on governance, economic hardships, and regional politics ahead of the 2027 General Election.
During the rally, Natembeya accused some leaders of abandoning the interests of the people after securing powerful positions in government.
He insisted that leaders must remain close to wananchi and address the rising cost of living, unemployment, and stalled development projects affecting many families in Western Kenya.
At the same time, Wetang’ula held a separate meeting bringing together opinion leaders, professionals, elders, and political mobilizers from Bungoma County.
Sources close to the meeting revealed that discussions focused on strengthening unity in the region and consolidating support for President William Ruto’s administration.
