Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has strongly responded to allegations made by DCP party digital strategist Councillor Njohi, who recently claimed that Kuria was involved in his alleged abduction.

In a sharp statement posted on social media, Kuria dismissed the accusations and criticized Njohi personally instead of directly addressing the details of the claims.

“The size of the so called Councillor Njohi's brain is inversely proportional to his stomach. No need to dignify his balderdash with a response. The only response he will get is in kind,” Kuria wrote in the widely circulated post.

The remarks quickly sparked reactions online, with some Kenyans criticizing the former Cabinet Secretary for what they described as a harsh response to serious allegations.

Others defended Kuria, arguing that the accusations against him had not been independently verified and that he was justified in rejecting them strongly.

Councillor Njohi had earlier addressed the media claiming he had been abducted days earlier. During the remarks, he alleged that Kuria was involved in the incident before allegedly handing him over to Betty Maina.

Njohi further claimed that during the alleged ordeal, his hair was shaved and humiliating photographs were taken.

According to his account, he was blindfolded during part of the incident but claimed he recognized Betty Maina’s voice and allegedly called her by name.

The allegations have intensified political tensions online, especially among supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, with whom Njohi is politically aligned.

Njohi is known as an outspoken supporter of Gachagua and serves within the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) as part of the party’s digital communication and mobilization team.

The claims have since generated widespread debate across social media platforms, with supporters from rival political camps trading accusations and defending their preferred leaders.

As of the latest reports, there had been no official police statement publicly confirming or verifying the abduction allegations made by Njohi.

Political observers say the dispute reflects the growing hostility and sharp exchanges emerging within Kenya’s evolving political landscape as rival factions position themselves ahead of future political contests.

The controversy also highlights the increasing role social media now plays in shaping political narratives, with personal allegations and online statements quickly becoming major national talking points.
