ODM chairperson, Gladys Wanga has fired a clear warning to certain senior figures within the party.

Speaking to members from across various regions, she singled out some prominent leaders who have publicly diverged from the party line, including Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino.

Wanga made it clear that while these individuals may choose a different path, the party itself will continue to advance.

“ODM is bigger than any one person,” she declared to cheers from the audience.

“Even if certain leaders decide to go their own way, the party will still move forward.”

In her address she emphasised that loyalty to the party and adherence to its rules remain non-negotiable. She warned that indiscipline will not be tolerated in the ranks.

Her remarks are particularly significant at a time when ODM is grappling with internal tensions following the passing of its long-time leader, Raila Odinga.

The absence of Sifuna and Owino from the meeting was noted by many observers, and interpreted as a symbol of the growing rifts within the party.

Meanwhile, senior ODM officials present at the gathering voiced full support for Wanga’s message, underlining that unity and discipline are vital if the party is to retain its strength and momentum.

The gathering at Bondo thus served as a strong reminder: despite individual ambitions or divergent views, the party expects its members — especially its leaders — to align with the collective vision and respect the structures that govern it.

Wanga’s firm stance signals that ODM’s leadership is prepared to enforce this disciplinary expectation.
