Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has today caused a stir on social media after he publicly revealed that his security had been withdrawn by the state.

The legislator, who is also the Senator Majority Whip, disclosed this in a post that he made on his Facebook account, where he was clearly shocked by what happened.

This is because apparently his security detail hadbeen withdrawn without him being warned beforehard, or him being given the reason why it had to be done.

"My security details have been pulled without any warning or explanation" Boni Khalwale said.

Even though it is not clear why his security has been withdrawn, the development has come at a time when the Kakamega Senator has been seen by many to be a rebel with regards to matters of party loyalty.

This is because Boni Khalwale has openly gone against the party that he used to get to Parliament, i.e the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, with regards to the upcoming Malava by-elections.

Instead of supporting the UDA candidate David Ndakwa, Boni Khalwale has unapologetically supported the DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako, something that has not sat well with other leaders from the ruling party.
