Security has been heightened in Migori after police discovered an explosive along Migori - Soro Road where President William Ruto was expected to use during his rally on Wednesday.
According to report, the explosive was hidden under River Kuja Bridge and that the area has been condoned off.
The road has also been closed for public use as investigation goes on.
Ruto is expected to grace the ongoing Piny Luo festival on Wednesday, December 17 which is hosted at Rongo University.
Ruto has been seeking for inherit the late Raila Odinga's Nyanza stronghold.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Oburu Oginga yesterday assured that the party will continue its partnership within the broad-based arrangement with Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Oburu stated that the party would remain under the broad-based arrangement with Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.
His remarks was echoed by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga.
