Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a fresh attack on President William Ruto’s administration, accusing it of failing to deliver on key promises made to Kenyans.
Speaking during a brief press briefing today, Kalonzo said the Kenya Kwanza government had “completely lost touch with the reality facing ordinary citizens,” insisting that the hardships experienced across the country were a direct result of poor leadership and unfulfilled pledges.
Kalonzo alleged that the government had resorted to political manipulation instead of service delivery, pointing specifically to recent by-elections, which he claimed were marred by irregularities and state interference.
According to him, the Ruto administration “stole by-elections” through intimidation, bribery, and misuse of state machinery, actions he said amounted to an assault on democracy.
The Wiper leader declared that the opposition was now fully prepared to challenge the government ahead of the 2027 General Election.
He maintained that Kenyans were disillusioned and ready for change, adding that the opposition coalition was building a strong, united front capable of sending Ruto home at the ballot.
Kalonzo stated that the opposition would intensify its nationwide engagements to ensure voters are informed and mobilised.
He emphasised that the 2027 contest would not be about personalities but about restoring dignity, economic stability, and accountability in public office.
He affirmed that the opposition was determined to protect the integrity of the electoral process and would not allow what he described as “state-sponsored electoral theft” to recur.
Kalonzo reiterated that the coalition’s focus is to defend democracy and offer Kenyans an alternative leadership committed to transparency and development.
With the political temperature rising, Kalonzo’s remarks set the stage for heightened activity as the country edges closer to the 2027 elections.
