Wiper, DCP and Jubilee Will Miss on the 2027 Ballot - Ndindi Nyoro

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has made a bold claim that Kenya’s opposition may completely fail to field a presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during an interview on NTV, Nyoro argued that the opposition, as it stands today, is virtually non-existent and too divided to survive the next election cycle.

According to the legislator, parties such as Wiper, DCP, Jubilee and other opposition parties are unlikely to remain intact long enough to appear on the 2027 ballot in their current form.

Nyoro warned that the absence of a strong and organised opposition is dangerous for the country, noting that unchecked power thrives when citizens lack clear alternatives and critical oversight.

Currently, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DCP boss Rigathi Gachagua, and Jubilee deputy party leader Fred Matiang’i are widely seen as potential threats to President William Ruto’s re-election bid.

However, cracks have already emerged within the opposition ranks, with tensions reported between camps aligned to Matiang’i and Gachagua.

Reflecting on the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Nyoro said the motion tested political relationships but insisted it did not turn him into an enemy of the Ruto administration.

He cautioned leaders against politics driven by anger and personal grudges, arguing that such approaches only distract from service delivery and national development.
