The family of a police officer who was allegedly killed by his colleague in Laikipia County has broken its silence, calling on the government to ensure justice is served.
Police Constable Abel Kivoto Kimanzi reportedly died following an altercation with a fellow officer at Salama Police Post in Laikipia West on the night of Friday, January 2.
His father, Solomon Kimanzi, has described the loss as devastating, saying he not only lost a son but also a close friend.
Speaking while overwhelmed with grief, Kimanzi said Abel was his third-born child and a disciplined officer who had never been involved in violence.
He appealed to authorities to conduct a transparent and thorough investigation into the incident.
“I was informed by an in-law that my son had been murdered at night. I rushed there immediately, but I was met with many rumours and no clear information. Up to now, we don’t know exactly what happened. All I want is justice for my son,” he said.
