The incident involved Benedict Mwangi, aged 68, who lost his life during a late-night altercation with his nephew, aged twenty-four.
According to police reports, the confrontation occurred within the village under unclear circumstances before escalating into a fatal attack.
Mwangi is believed to have sustained serious injuries during the fight, which later proved fatal.
His body was discovered on Sunday morning lying at the gate of a neighbouring homestead several hours after the incident had taken place.
Officers who visited the scene noted that the deceased had deep cut wounds on the left side of the abdomen and on the back, indicating the intensity of the assault.
The suspect is said to have fled immediately after the incident, leaving the victim unattended.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect as investigations continue to establish the cause of the dispute and the sequence of events that led to the killing.
