Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua was today forced to cut short his speech for a while as Kisii residents in Bomachoge Chache constituency broke into chants and dances after what the former second in command said about the head of state and government president William Ruto.
This comes after Gachagua asked locals as to whether they want Ruto to be a Tutam or Wantam President. "Na Sisi Hapa Pamoja na Matiangi Tumeamua Ruto ni Wantam. Ruto ni Wantam ama Sivyo?" He asked.
"Wantam. Wantam. Wantam" chants and dance filled the air that forced the former second in command to asked them to stop so that he could make his speech.
"Na Nyinyi Watu wa Bomachoge Chache, Mnasemaje? Tunatuma Simba Arati Nyumbani ama Anabaki? Ni Tutam or Wantam? Eti Nini? Aende Asiende?" He asked.
It's from here that sounds of Tutam could be heard penetrating through the mic sending a clear message to Matiangi that despite the political differences, a section of Kisii residents still love their governor and are ready to stand by him.
Such are always expected in political rallies as leaders can not be loved or hated a hundred percent.
