New evidence has revealed the true identity of the Russian man who went viral for secretly recording women in Ghana and Kenya, according to recent reports.

Ghana’s Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George said at a press briefing on February 18, 2026, that authorities have now confirmed the suspect is Vladislav Liukov after reviewing passport details.

The man first became known online as “Yaytseslav” or Vyacheslav Trahov, but officials said those were names he used to hide his real identity.

Minister George indicated that the passport evidence matched other footage, including a video taken in a hallway that showed the same clothing and a blue wristwatch seen in the viral clips.

According to reports, the suspect described himself online as a “pick-up artist” and content creator. In Ghana, he is said to have approached women near places like Accra Mall and persuaded them to private locations.

The recordings were allegedly made using camera-equipped sunglasses with the videos later posted on social media platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, with full intimate videos reportedly available behind a paid Telegram channel.

The story first gained attention around February 12, 2026 when short clips began circulating widely online, sparking anger and concern over privacy violations.

Officials in Ghana warned the public not to share or download the videos, reminding people that doing so could also break the law.

Ghanaian authorities believe the suspect left the country before they could arrest him. There are also investigations in Kenya, where similar recordings were reported, and both countries are working with international partners to trace and hold him accountable.
