Police are investigating an incident in which two people died in a tragic domestic incident reported in Kilibwoni Ward, Nandi County, on Sunday, February 9, 2026.
According to police, a man identified as Dancun Kimaru Limo is alleged to have fatally injured his wife, Jelagat, before jumping into a nearby dam, where he later died.
The incident is under investigation as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths. Police have urged the public to seek peaceful means of resolving domestic disputes.
Residents gathered at the dam in large numbers waiting for the police to retrieve his body and confirm his death.
His wife's body was taken to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures as police attempt to establish the motive behind the incident.
Police called on residents with any information that might assist in the ongoing investigations to come forward.
The young couple left one child behind, and the affected family members are yet to speak.
The authorities also called on troubled couples to seek help in order to reduce the rising cases of Gender-Based Violence in the country.
