Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has publicly reaffirmed her loyalty to President William Ruto, stating she remains firmly aligned with his leadership. She explained that her political support is rooted in development commitments she says have directly benefited her Murang’a constituency.

In a message shared on her X account on February 2, 2026, Wamuchomba defended the president, pointing to infrastructure projects such as the Mau Mau roads. She argued that only constituencies benefiting from these roads fully understand Ruto’s development agenda.

The lawmaker suggested that visible progress on the Mau Mau roads demonstrates the president’s commitment to campaign pledges. According to her, these projects are not mere promises but ongoing efforts that have had tangible impact on local communities and regional connectivity.

Wamuchomba also revealed that she has consistently pushed the president to ensure key projects in her constituency are delivered. She described her role as one of persistent follow-up, keeping national leadership focused on fulfilling development obligations to her voters.

Declaring she cannot oppose a leader who has delivered, Wamuchomba stated she would not “fight the hand that is giving.” She emphasized that every leader should champion their people’s rights, but maintained that, in her view, Ruto has proven dependable.

Her remarks come shortly after she openly endorsed Ruto’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 General Election. In a recent video message, she declared support for a second presidential term while expressing her own ambition to serve three terms as Githunguri MP.

Using a mix of English and Kiswahili, Wamuchomba urged leaders to focus on work rather than political noise. She said her priority for the year is development and service delivery, with political contests to be addressed later at an appropriate time.

Dressed in United Democratic Alliance attire during a recent appearance, she said she feels fully at home within the ruling party. Her public posture signals close alignment with both the president and the broader UDA leadership structure.

Overall, Wamuchomba’s statements reinforce her image as a vocal ally of the president, linking her political stance to development outcomes. By highlighting completed and ongoing projects, she frames loyalty as a response to what she views as fulfilled promises.
