A sad thing happened Monday night at a Nairobi hospital. A 72-year-old patient, Abdala Mohamed, killed himself while waiting for treatment in the emergency room.

His driver brought him to the hospital because he wasn't feeling well. Mohamed had a license to own a gun.

Police say Mohamed was seen by medical staff when he got to the hospital. Doctors found out they didn't have some of the medicine he needed. They started trying to find the drugs while he waited.
Detectives say that Mohamed seemed more and more upset while he waited.

Then, they say he took out his gun, which he was allowed to have, and shot himself in the chin. He died right away before anyone could help.

His driver had gone away for a bit, but he came back when he heard the noise. He got help from the hospital staff, but it was too late. Police came and took the gun as part of their investigation.

People at the hospital were shocked by what happened. They couldn't believe a normal hospital visit could end like this.

Officials said Mohamed didn't have a past of violence, so they don't know why he killed himself.

This case makes people worry again about suicide and sudden deaths in the country.

It also makes people talk about mental health, especially for older people, and what it means to own a gun.

The police are still checking things out. They are asking families to look for signs of trouble in their loved ones and telling people to get help if they're having a hard time.
