Sifuna argued that ODM must remain firm in its role as an opposition party. He said the party was formed to stand for accountability, justice, and the rule of law. According to him, these values would be weakened if ODM became entangled in arrangements with the current administration.
During the interview, Sifuna made it clear that President Ruto’s time in power is limited. He said aligning with a government that is losing public trust would damage ODM’s credibility and long-term strength. In his view, political survival depends on listening to the people and standing on clear principles.
Sifuna also spoke about the economic struggles facing many Kenyans. He pointed to the rising cost of living, unemployment, and heavy taxation as key issues that continue to anger the public. He said ODM cannot ignore this frustration by appearing to support policies that hurt ordinary citizens.
