In a shocking turn of events, CCTV footage has gone viral showing a young boy boldly stealing cash from a pharmacy in Nairobi in broad daylight.
The clip, shared online by Jaramogi Allan Ofula, shows the boy acting with surprising confidence, leaving both the pharmacy attendant and owner stunned.
According to the footage, the incident occurred at 1:49 PM. The boy waited for the attendant to step out briefly, seemingly calculating his every move.
He approached a drawer, which he unlocked with a key, and carefully removed a bundle of cash before walking out as if nothing had happened.
Social media users expressed disbelief over the boy’s audacity. Many debated whether the child should face legal action, parental discipline, or both. Jaramogi Allan Ofula, who shared the clip, wrote, “This boy probably pretended to be playing outside the pharmacy.
When the owner stepped out, he tiptoed in and did what he did. Now, what do you do with such a child—take him to his parents, punish him, or report him to the police?”
Netizens were divided in their reactions. Some warned that without timely correction, the boy could become a habitual thief.
Loice Mumbua commented, “If he’s left unchecked, this boy could grow into a professional thief.” Others expressed astonishment at how effortlessly he carried out the act, with Roho Safi noting, “He handled it so smoothly without stress. Very young, God forgive him.”
This incident has reignited discussions on juvenile discipline and safety in public spaces. Many are urging parents and authorities to intervene early to prevent such behaviour from escalating.
The viral clip has not only captured attention but also sparked a broader conversation about accountability, parenting, and community responsibility in Nairobi.
