The renown Martha Karua has today slammed the Ruto's government for not puting in measures to curb the impacts of the ongoing floods in the country.
Karua through her official social media platforms promised that under her government, all these problems will be prioritized and she is now opposing the Singapore slogan by the current.
Karua added that as a matter of fact, the current administration led by his excellency William Ruto has failed to deliver their promises to the Kenyan people and therefore she is ready together with her team under the united opposition to face William Ruto and defeat him.
The opposition has now called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to immediately investigate the claims and provide a clear explanation to the public.
They argued that the voter registration process must remain transparent and strictly limited to Kenyan citizens as stipulated by the Constitution.
Some leaders also urged security agencies and relevant government departments responsible for issuing national identification cards to tighten verification procedures.
They warned that failure to act swiftly could create mistrust among citizens and fuel political tension as the country slowly begins preparations for the 2027 polls.
“This is a serious matter that cannot be ignored. The credibility of our elections depends on a clean and accurate voter register,” one opposition leader said, adding that any attempt to influence the vote through illegal means would be strongly resisted.
However, government allies have dismissed the claims as politically motivated, accusing the opposition of attempting to create unnecessary panic among voters.
They insisted that Kenya’s electoral systems have safeguards that prevent non-citizens from being registered.
Political analysts say such disputes are not uncommon as the country moves closer to election season.
Nevertheless, they emphasize that maintaining public trust in electoral institutions will be critical in ensuring peaceful and credible elections.
With the 2027 race still some distance away, the debate surrounding voter registration is likely to intensify in the coming months as political competition continues to build across the country.
