Emotions ran high as new details emerged about the final moments of the late South Rift politician Johanna Ng’eno before the tragic helicopter crash that claimed his life.

As family, friends, and political leaders gathered to mourn him, a deeply personal story from his mother surfaced, revealing the last conversation she had with her son before he boarded the chopper that would never reach its destination.

According to the grieving mother, Ng’eno made a simple but heartfelt request just moments before leaving home. She recalled that her son approached her and asked her to pray for him before he departed for another visit.

The emotional account has since stirred conversations online after the story was shared widely.

The elderly mother narrated that she gladly accepted the request and immediately began praying for him and the government as well.

To her, it was a normal moment between a mother and her son. However, unknown to her, those prayers would soon turn into a moment of painful reflection after news reached her that the helicopter carrying him had crashed.

She explained that she continued praying even after hearing the devastating news.

In her emotional message during the funeral period, she reflected on the moment her son asked for prayers and wondered whether that request was his way of preparing for what was ahead.

Her words have since touched many Kenyans who followed the burial and mourning ceremonies. Many people online shared similar experiences, saying parents’ prayers often hold deep spiritual meaning in African homes.

Meanwhile, the political atmosphere around the burial remained tense after a separate political statement circulated online involving former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s ally Kanini Kega, who also serves as an EALA MP.

In the statement, Kega appeared to direct sharp political remarks toward the ODM camp, reigniting debate among supporters from both sides of the political divide.

Despite the political noise, the emotional story from Ng’eno’s mother stood out as the most powerful reminder of the bond between a parent and a child.
