The ongoing dispute over Dari Business Park in Karen took a new political turn after remarks by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua about the troubles facing former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju.

Tuju recently returned to the Dari Business Park property days after police oversaw his eviction from the premises.

The eviction followed a court process linked to a loan dispute involving the property. The site has been at the center of a long legal battle over a debt running into billions of shillings.

During his visit, Tuju appeared emotional as he inspected the compound and the surrounding facilities.

The property hosts several business spaces and has been part of the investments owned by Dari Limited for many years. His visit came shortly after authorities moved in and removed him from the premises in an operation that attracted public attention.

However, the issue quickly moved from a legal matter to a political debate after Rigathi Gachagua addressed the situation during a public event. The former deputy president claimed that the circumstances surrounding the property were not as simple as a bank recovery process.

Gachagua alleged that President William Ruto was involved in the purchase of Tuju’s hotel, suggesting that powerful interests were behind the ongoing developments.

He used a metaphor to argue that the situation could not be disguised, saying that changing appearances cannot alter the real nature of an issue.
