What Amos Requested From His Brother Minutes Before the Crash That He Regrettably Did Not Send

At the funeral for Kenyan Forest Service ranger Amos Rotich, his younger brother's touching words brought tears to many.

He shared their last talk before the helicopter crash that tragically killed six people, including Johana Ng’eno.

During the service in Emurua Dikirr, the university student remembered how Amos was always there for him, especially for his education. He wasn't just a brother; he was a mentor and a guardian who always made sure the family had what they needed.

He said they last spoke on a Saturday, not long before the helicopter went down in Mosop, Nandi County. Amos had asked him to send his university's bank details so he could pay his tuition for the next semester.

The student was in class then and said he'd send the info later that evening when he got home. But when he got back, there was a power outage, so he couldn't send it then.

The last thing my brother Amos said to me was on Saturday before the accident. He wanted the school's account number to pay my fees. I told him I'd send it when I got home from class, he told everyone.

Sadly, that message never happened.

The young man said Amos even followed up to remind him about the fees, which shows how dedicated he was to keeping his brother in school.

He called Amos the family's rock. Amos had even started bringing building supplies home, planning to build their mother a house.

Now that he's gone, the responsibility of taking care of the family falls on the student's shoulders. He hopes to continue what his brother started.
