Oburu Odinga has warned critics accusing him of “selling” the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to the government that he is ready to take legal action, escalating an already heated political debate surrounding the party’s relationship with the ruling administration.

Speaking during the ODM youth convention held in Nairobi on Monday, April 20, 2026, Oburu dismissed the allegations as baseless and defamatory, insisting that those making such claims must be prepared to defend them in court.

“Even if they abuse us, we are still moving forward. But one of them claims Oburu has been bought. I will take him to court to explain how much Oburu has been bought. I cannot be bought,” he said.
