Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has stirred fresh political debate after delivering a pointed message to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna over his place within the Orange Democratic Movement.
Salasya painted a picture of a party structure where influence is tightly held by a few senior figures. He suggested that Sifuna’s position may not be as secure as it appears, warning that internal shifts could leave him sidelined.
In his remarks, Salasya described ODM as a space controlled by long standing power brokers, singling out James Orengo and Babu Owino as key figures who shape decisions within the party.
The legislator urged Sifuna to reconsider his political footing, cautioning that waiting too long could see him edged out without much notice.
His comments come at a time when murmurs of internal competition and realignment continue to ripple through the opposition.
Salasya’s statement has drawn mixed reactions from supporters and critics alike. While some view his remarks as candid advice, others see them as an unnecessary provocation that could deepen divisions within ODM.
As the political season slowly gains momentum, such exchanges highlight the growing tension and jostling for influence within key parties.
