Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has once again stirred political debate after declaring that opposition leaders Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua should support Edwin Sifuna for the presidency if they genuinely want political change in Kenya.

Amisi's remarks come at a time when opposition leaders are exploring possible alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election.

According to the lawmaker, the opposition should focus on presenting a fresh face capable of attracting young voters and those seeking a new political direction.

The outspoken MP has in recent weeks consistently expressed support for Sifuna, describing the Nairobi Senator as a leader who represents a new generation of Kenyan politics.

He has argued that many young voters are increasingly looking beyond established political figures and are eager to embrace leaders with fresh ideas and approaches.

His latest statement is likely to generate discussion within opposition circles, particularly as talks continue on how to build a united front against President William Ruto in 2027.

While Kalonzo and Gachagua remain among the most influential opposition figures, Amisi believes their backing of Sifuna would signal a commitment to generational change rather than personal political ambition.

The comments also reflect growing debate within the broader opposition movement over who should carry its presidential flag in the next election.
