Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has confirmed that the Linda Mwananchi Tour will proceed on Sunday, June 14, amid growing political speculation linking him to a possible alliance with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna made the announcement through a social media post in which he shared details of the upcoming event scheduled to take place in Thika.

The senator revealed that the tour would include a church service and a major political rally as part of the Linda Mwananchi movement.

According to the programme shared online, the day will begin with a church service at AIPCA Thika Cathedral starting at 10:00 a.m.

A Linda Mwananchi mega rally is then expected to take place at Kivulini Grounds from 1:00 p.m., before leaders make a stopover in Githurai later in the afternoon.

The confirmation comes at a time when political rumours continue to swirl around Sifuna and Kalonzo Musyoka.

Reports circulating online have claimed that the two leaders could be preparing to work together as part of the opposition’s strategy for the 2027 elections.

Although neither Sifuna nor Kalonzo has publicly confirmed any political arrangement, recent public appearances and growing cooperation among opposition figures have continued to fuel speculation.

Political observers believe early discussions and coalition-building efforts are already taking shape as leaders position themselves for the next election cycle.

Sifuna’s latest announcement is also likely to attract attention due to claims that the Linda Mwananchi movement could play a significant role in shaping opposition politics.

The movement has recently gained momentum through public mobilisation efforts and political engagements in different regions.

However, the united opposition has not issued an official statement regarding claims of a possible Kalonzo-Sifuna alliance. This means that any reports about a joint political ticket remain unverified for now.

Even so, Sifuna’s confirmation of the Sunday tour has reignited debate among supporters and critics, with many closely watching the opposition’s next moves as political temperatures gradually begin to rise ahead of the 2027 General Election.
