Cracks Widen As Osotsi Reveals Why Oburu And Junet Skipped ODM Meeting Convened On Mama Ida's Advise

Orange Democratic Movement is facing growing internal strain following fresh claims by Deputy Party Leader and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi that key leaders skipped a planned unity meeting meant to calm tensions within the party.

Osotsi says the missed meeting exposed the depth of divisions that have persisted since the death of founding leader Raila Odinga.

According to him, the reconciliation talks were scheduled ahead of the Central Management Committee meeting held in Kilifi earlier this month but failed to take place as planned.

The senator points an accusing finger at party leader Oburu Oginga and National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, whom he claims did not attend the meeting despite it being organised to resolve their differences.

Osotsi says the meeting was part of efforts encouraged by Mama Ida Odinga to help restore harmony in the party.

He notes that only Secretary General Edwin Sifuna made an appearance, while the two leaders later turned up at the Kilifi CMC meeting and issued public positions without first resolving internal disagreements.

To Osotsi, this approach weakened trust and undermined collective decision-making.

The ODM deputy leader has also raised concerns over recent party activities in Western Kenya, particularly the Linda Ground campaigns.

He argues that several meetings and rallies have been organised hurriedly and without proper consultation of all party organs.
