A fresh legal battle has emerged after a private company moved to the High Court seeking KSh 7.7 billion in compensation from State House, claiming it was unlawfully pushed out of a lucrative government contract shortly after the 2022 presidential election.
In court filings, the firm argues that it had been awarded a valid tender to provide event management services for presidential functions, including logistics, branding and hospitality.
However, the company claims the contract was abruptly terminated after William Ruto was declared the winner of the August 2022 election by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
The family has connected that incident with land disputes between them and one of the locals in that region hence requesting the government to intervene.
