Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has arrived in Uganda ahead of high-level engagements on the AU-led mediation for the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) peace process.

According to reports, the former President of Kenya was received at Entebbe International Airport by Kenya's Ambassador to Uganda, Joash Maangi.

The former President's office also dismissed reports alleging that he directed the former Deputy President of Kenya, Rigathi Gachagua, to convene a meeting in Mount Kenya ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Meanwhile, Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has allegedly brokered a peace deal between the former President and Rigathi.

According to reports, the deal was also brokered in the presence of former President of Nigeria, Obasanjo, during a meeting held between Kalonzo and Uhuru in Nigeria.

The handshake is set to be announced in a few months.

Rigathi has called on Kenyans to support the opposition in the upcoming general elections.

He affirmed that President Ruto will serve Wananchi, and the people of Mount Kenya are going to put their votes in one basket.
