Farouk Kibet, an aide to President William Ruto, toured West Kabras Ward in Malava Constituency on Monday to campaign for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ahead of the February 26 by-election.

During his visit, Kibet made several stopovers across the ward to mobilize residents to support UDA candidate Elphas Shalakha.

The by-election was necessitated by the resignation of former MCA David Ndakwa, who stepped down to contest for the parliamentary seat.

Addressing gatherings at different centers, Kibet urged voters to remain loyal to the ruling party, arguing that it has the capacity to deliver development projects to the region.

He also criticized Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of promoting divisive politics. Kibet cautioned residents against backing the opposition, claiming it lacks a clear agenda for the area.

At one rally, he asked the crowd whether anyone intended to support Gachagua, prompting a strong reaction from attendees who expressed support for President Ruto and the UDA candidate.

Kibet concluded by encouraging West Kabras residents to turn out in large numbers and vote for Shalakha, emphasizing the importance of unity and continued partnership with the national government.
