One family is seeking justice in Nyeri County after one of their kin was beheaded while asleep hence creating concern among Kenyans on social media platforms.
According to the latest news report by a reliable news source through Facebook social media platform ,the deceased identified as Gathoni was murdered by unknown people and later moved away with her head and has not yet been traced since 2023.
In response, Senator Karungo took to his social media platforms to defend the constitutional right of Kenyans to support leaders of their choice.
He emphasized that standing up for accountability and speaking openly about national issues should not be interpreted as irrational behavior.
According to him, leaders who question authority are fulfilling their democratic responsibility rather than acting out of line.
Karungo framed his remarks around the broader principle of political freedom. He argued that democracy thrives when citizens are free to align themselves with leaders and ideologies without fear of ridicule or dismissal.
Labelling supporters in negative terms, he said, undermines meaningful political discourse and weakens the spirit of healthy debate.
The senator also addressed critics he referred to as “Kasongolites,” urging them to channel political differences through the ballot box rather than through insults.
He expressed confidence that voters will ultimately determine the country’s political direction during elections.
The exchange comes at a time when political tensions remain high, with leaders allied to Gachagua openly challenging the current political direction while other lawmakers question their influence and strategy. As the debate unfolds, many Kenyans are closely watching how rival camps navigate the shifting political landscape.
