Omanga, who was a vocal supporter of Ruto during the 2022 General Election, stirred reactions online after praising the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Linda Mwananchi Tour held in Kitengela on Sunday, February 15.
The rally drew thousands of supporters and featured key ODM leaders, including Edwin Sifuna, James Orengo, Babu Owino, Godfrey Osotsi, Caleb Amisi and Richard Onyonka, among others.
Taking to social media shortly after the event, Omanga expressed admiration for the turnout and energy at the rally.
“Revolution is mandatory… No fear… No retreat… Kaongo should go the way he is going. Kitengela power,” she posted.
In a follow-up message, she added that “change is inevitable,” a statement many interpreted as a bold signal of her shifting political alignment ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Omanga had previously announced her intention to vie for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat in 2027, a position she narrowly lost in the last election cycle.
Speaking during a traditional ceremony in Gatundu South, she confirmed she would be on the ballot and assured her supporters of her commitment to serve.
Her latest remarks have triggered mixed reactions among Kenyans. Some believe her move could reshape Nairobi’s political landscape, while others speculate about possible strategic realignments within opposition ranks.
Critics questioned whether her statements represent a complete break from UDA or a calculated political move.

Supporters, however, encouraged her to collaborate with leaders aligned with the “Wantam” narrative, a slogan associated with calls to make Ruto a one-term president.
