Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), has made a stunning statement regarding the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of Sudan.
Through his usual X (formerly Twitter) posts, Gen. Muhoozi acknowledged the recent genocide committed by the RSF in El Father and called it one of the worst things in Africa's history.
He stated that the RSF would have to pay for the evil they committed in El Father.
"We are ready to work with our South Sudanese brothers against the menace of the RSF! When they captured El Fasher last year, they killed our Black brothers and sisters worse than you would kill a dog. They are going to pay for that one way or another," Gen. Muhoozi stated.
He went on to even suggest that if the African Union is really serious about justice for the people of El Fasher, he is ready with the UPDF army to fight against the RSF, provided enough support is received.
"You Africans and people around the world help me raise a budget through the African Union for a UPDF operation against RSF. Then we will see how tough those killers are," he added.
Making the matter more serious, he went on to emphasize that it would take the UPDF just two weeks to defeat the RSF and bring an end to the crisis in Sudan.
Gen. Muhoozi's statements have left many wondering whether he is serious or just making baseless claims.
This is the second time Gen. Muhoozi is making comments on the Sudan war, with the first comment causing a political stir between Uganda and Sudan after he stated that he could capture Khartoum.
