The recent political landscape in Kenya just got a lot more interesting! Days after former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga was spotted sharing a stage and cosy moments with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at a colourful ruracio (dowry payment ceremony) in Gatundu South, she's dropped what many are calling a bold message to Kenyans.

This comes amid swirling speculation that Omanga, once a staunch supporter of President William Ruto and UDA, is shifting allegiances toward Gachagua's camp—possibly the DCP (Democratic Coalition Party) or the broader United Opposition.

What Went Down at the Event?
The interaction happened on February 7, 2026, during the traditional dowry ceremony for Ann and Aloise Kinyanjui (linked to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria).

Photos and videos went viral showing Omanga smiling, greeting Gachagua warmly, sitting next to him, and engaging in light banter. Gachagua even introduced her at the event.

Omanga later posted on social media, captioning photos:

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing. A colourful ruracio for Ann & Aloice, graciously shared with H.E Rigathi as love, culture, and blessings unite. #MamaMiradi #MamaKanairo #MamaNiMjamo.”
But the real buzz came from her follow-up statements on X (formerly Twitter), where she addressed supporters directly.

The Bold Message to Kenyans

In a post that's got tongues wagging, Omanga declared her 2027 ambitions loud and clear:
“Wengi wananiuliza Rada …2027, nitakuwepo Nairobi Women Rep.

Na nitakua saana – with my people. Nimewaskia, tuko pamoja!”
(Translation: “Many are asking me about my plans… 2027, I will be there as Nairobi Woman Representative.

And I will be there strongly – with my people. I have heard you, we are together!”)
This comes just days after she teased her party affiliation with questions like “Ati mnauliza chama ni gani?” (What party are you asking about?).

The timing, right after cozying up to Gachagua, has fueled reports of her ditching UDA and aligning with the opposition side.

She's also been quoted in some circles emphasizing unity with "her people" and hinting at dissatisfaction with the current administration, positioning herself as a grassroots champion ready for the Nairobi Women Rep race.
