The recent United Opposition rallies in Laikipia and Nyandarua counties have sparked fresh tensions within the coalition, as Jubilee Party aspirants expressed deep frustration after being denied the chance to address the crowds.

Despite bringing hundreds of mobilized supporters to the events, several Jubilee hopefuls were not given speaking opportunities, leading to widespread disappointment among attendees and party members.

The incidents have highlighted growing strains in the alliance, which brings together various opposition groups aiming to challenge the current administration.

Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Jeremiah Kioni accused the Democracy for Citizens Party of orchestrating the exclusion. He claimed that DCP figures deliberately sidelined Jubilee representatives, even in areas considered strongholds for Jubilee leaders. Kioni pointed to one instance in Nyandarua where he felt overlooked despite his historical ties to the region.

In response to the perceived marginalization, Kioni announced that Jubilee would begin organizing parallel rallies alongside the United Opposition events. This move signals a potential shift toward more independent action by Jubilee within the broader opposition framework, raising questions about the coalition's unity ahead of future electoral battles.

Observers note that these rifts come amid ongoing debates over roles, influence, and strategy in the opposition bloc. While the United Opposition has held several large gatherings to push a common agenda, internal disagreements over platform sharing and decision-making appear to be testing the partnership's resilience.

The frustration among aspirants underscores the challenges of maintaining harmony in multi-party coalitions, especially in politically charged regions like the former Central Province.

As events unfold, all eyes remain on how the United Opposition navigates these divisions to present a cohesive front.
