“Join UDA or Forget State House” Senator Mungatana Tell Coast Leaders in Bold Political Message

Danson Mungatana, the Senator for Tana River County, has sparked debate after declaring that the Coast region can only produce a president by aligning with a major political party such as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Speaking during a UDA seminar and Iftar dinner held at the Mombasa Cultural Centre on Monday, March 9, 2026, Mungatana urged residents and leaders from the Coast to join the ruling party if they want to strengthen their chances of one day occupying the country’s top seat.
