Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Odinga has once again stirred online excitement after joking about the party’s 2027 ambitions following a parliamentary group meeting held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

In a brief but punchy message shared on his social media pages, the Siaya Senator wrote: “Ni pawaaa tu!” a phrase that has now become closely associated with his recent political rallies.

The post was accompanied by a photo taken at Parliament Buildings showing him alongside Vihiga Senator and ODM deputy party leader Godfrey Osotsi.

The meeting brought together ODM Members of Parliament and Senators at a time when the party is facing internal pressure from emerging rival factions. Despite the challenges, Oburu appeared upbeat, using humour to energise his colleagues and supporters.

Over the past few months, the 82-year-old politician has blended comedy and sharp political messaging while popularising slogans such as “Tunataka pawa” to declare ODM’s desire to capture power in the 2027 General Election.

His remarks also come amid ongoing discussions about a possible pre-election cooperation deal with President William Ruto and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

At previous events, Oburu urged ODM supporters to rally behind a broader political arrangement, saying the party cannot afford to remain outside power.

However, his statements have at times sparked debate, especially after comments suggesting ODM was not keen on the Deputy President’s seat currently held by Kithure Kindiki.

Still, Oburu’s charisma and viral moments — including dramatic gestures during rallies — continue to dominate political conversations both online and offline.
