Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has broken his silence on the relationship between former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga and President William Samoei Ruto, stating that the long-time opposition leader may never forgive the Head of State.
Speaking during a Linda Mwananchi movement event in Nairobi, Sifuna claimed that Ruto’s actions had significantly altered the identity of the party, arguing that it had drifted away from its original mission of championing the needs of ordinary citizens.
According to Sifuna, the developments within the party have left it “unrecognisable,” a situation he attributes to the current political realignments involving key leaders.
His remarks come at a time when the Orange Democratic Movement is holding a crucial delegates meeting, where party leader Oburu Odinga is expected to be formally endorsed. He is also set to lead structured engagements with President Ruto on behalf of the party.
The parallel political developments have placed renewed focus on the relationship between ODM and the ruling administration, with observers closely watching how the engagements will shape the party’s future direction.
With both the party meeting and ongoing political statements drawing national attention, the coming days are expected to provide more clarity on the evolving political landscape.
