Kapseret Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi, has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for allegedly politicizing the death of MP Ngeno, who was killed in a deadly chopper crash on February 28, 2026.

On March 1, 2026, the MP revealed that the pilot who died along with the MP had made an emergency landing due to bad weather.

"Let Kenyans mourn. You will never amount to anything. How can you announce the passing of an individual on top of your vehicle at a rally? The pilot initially made an emergency landing because bad weather," MP Sudi said.

Rigathi announced the MP's death at a function and called for investigations.

According to reports, Johana Ng'eno, the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, was among six people killed in a helicopter crash in Nandi County on February 28, 2026.

The fatal crash occurred in Chepkiep, Mosop Sub-county, around 4:45 pm, reportedly due to bad weather.

The aircraft burst into flames, killing everyone on board. They were burnt beyond recognition.

Ng'eno, 54, was serving his third term and had attended a function in Endebess earlier that day before boarding the ill-fated flight.

Other victims included the pilot, George Were, journalist Nick Kosgei, and Amos Kipngetich Rotich, a Kenya Forest Service officer.
