Social media personality Marion Naipei has cautioned TikToker Hanna Benta against seeking refuge at Pastor Victor Kanyari’s church following intense online scrutiny over leaked private videos.
During a TikTok Live session on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, alongside her close friend Manzi wa Mombasa, Naipei addressed Hanna’s situation, questioning her decision to portray herself as a devout Christian online.
She argued that presenting oneself as morally flawless on social media while personal private matters leak publicly can be problematic, potentially inviting more criticism and judgement.
“You can’t go and present yourself as someone who doesn’t sin and then expect people to react differently when private videos surface. That’s not how it works,” Naipei told Hanna.
She further advised that turning to a church for protection or validation in such circumstances may not be the best course of action, emphasising personal responsibility and authenticity instead.
Naipei’s comments sparked discussions among viewers about social media authenticity, privacy, and the pressures influencers face to maintain curated online personas.
Many echoed her viewpoint, highlighting the importance of being honest about personal flaws and mistakes rather than seeking external shields or excuses in public forums.
She also encouraged Hanna to focus on self-reflection and learning from the situation rather than relying on public or religious platforms for protection.
According to Naipei, taking accountability and managing personal conduct offline can help mitigate the negative impact of online controversies.
The TikTok Live session highlighted the ongoing conversation around influencer accountability, social media pressures, and the challenges of balancing personal privacy with public visibility.
Through her advice, Marion Naipei aims to remind fellow content creators that authenticity, personal responsibility, and careful decision-making are crucial when navigating viral controversies in the digital age.
